so you know how between bands at shows they play music in between? well just before Green Day came on stage on saturday, they started playing Bohemian Rhapsody through the speakers and this happened.

hands down the best crowd experience I have ever had and it’s still giving me goosebumps whenever I watch this video :’))))))))) I’m so happy people filmed it!

i'm trying to learn for myself kid a on piano. And i find it a bit hard ( especially for my left hand) is it that difficult or is just that i don't have musical education? Sorry for my dumb question if you ever answer. Thanks anyway.

what exactly about it do you find difficult? i don’t have my radiohead piano songbook with me but i have a .pdf of the kid a songbook and looking at it now i see that the left hand seems to be compromised mainly of held chords. is it the rhythm? memorisation? fingering?

either way, musical education is never necessary. i can offer some advice, and this applies to learning anything on any instrument: isolate small parts of it (especially the parts you find difficult) and play maybe only a measure or two at a time. play even less if you have to, even if it’s just a transition between two chords that you’re having trouble with. play that two chord transition over and over again. play only one hand. play it over and over again, and do it SLOWLY. once you get the hang of a particular small section at a slower tempo, speed it up little by little til you’re at tempo. then do the same thing with the next measure or chord or so, til you’re at tempo and playing it comfortably. then play everything you just did together, making sure you’ve got it. if you then find yourself repeatedly having difficulties with certain things, slow it down and isolate it til you figure out why, then practice that small part again and again and again until you’re comfortable. i hope that helpszzz z

he was an independent contractor as far as i understand and was only really there for that particular gig. i have a feeling most of the people working there that night were similarly employed, i.e., not for AFP

i didn’t see a large number of crew members overall and the only person i recognised was that blonde woman who always puts out their water bottles or gatorade and that is all i ever see her do. someone told me once that she’s their “green expert” but i don’t know for sure. once the actual tour starts we’ll see if there are any more familiar faces.

i was told the capacity was around 360-375 and i was told that the guest list was compromised of 200 people, but that i don’t know for sure. there were two lines separating the guest list from the raffle winners and the guest list line was much larger and people kept showing up even after the show started to get in via that list, so all and all i would say they were JUST under capacity by the time everyone who was going to show up showed up.

there were around 35+ people waiting who didn’t have tickets and were just hopeful (like myself) and the security kept telling us again and again that production DOES NOT want us in, we were NOT going to get in at any point and we were just wasting our time. by the 9th song we had given up hope completely, and that’s when i got in via a crew member. a little while later their manager came out, said they can let 5 people in, and started asking people questions such as “name two songs on the album” and “where are we?” (the correct answer to which was apparently CLUB AMOK). by the last song they let some others in because “they felt sorry for us” as heidy said lol… i’m not sure how many people were let in at that point but i’m sure most of the people who had been waiting to get in all day had left already. so yeah.

the show itself was unique, very special. the place was so small and the sound so loud that every note flea played rang throughout my entire body. honestly, they impressed me more than i thought they would. some AMOK songs i haven’t been too fond of take on a different face in a live setting and they’re usually… better. (before your very eyes… should only ever be heard live.) i feel like AMOK is going to be an album to be appreciated live, and they’re spicing up a lot of eraser material to give the entire setlist an overall fresh taste. the upcoming tour is probably going to kick major ass. you can tell they’re feelin’ it, and with the way thom performs, if he feels it, u feel it.
